His and her custom closets in a $18.975-million Delray Beach estate display couture and collectibles ‘like art’.
When you first enter the Sundara Estate, a 26,654-square-foot custom contemporary mansion on the market for $18,975 million, you might notice the 30-foot suspended Murano-glass wall and floating Thassos-marboe staircase by the main entrance. Or the Terzani chandelier in the dining room, the 1,000-bottle wine cellar, the private office with 30-foot Carrara- marble fireplace and cigar lounge, or the 4,000-square-foot entertainment area with theater and game room.
It might take you a while to discover the his-and-hers closets in the master wing. But they might be the feature that sells the home.
One of the closets, for example, was designed to replicate a Chanel boutique. The 600-square-foot-space features glass doors, glossy lacqured cabinetery in black and white, a rolling ladder and special lighting to show off the content. A giant bottle of Chanel No.5 serves as a focal point.
The gentlemen’s closet, on the other hand was custom designed to show off the owner’s $100,000 collection of Air Jordan sneakers. That closet was constructed of dark lacquered wood and has a rolling ladder, like a library, too. “The premise for custom closets is that collectibles and couture items deserve to be displayed and enjoyed like art,” says Senada Adzem, executive director of luxury sales at Douglas Elliman Real Estate in Boca Raton, who holds the listing. “It’s an investment in a lifestyle that enhances the value of a home.”
The house, on 2.67 acres at 9200 Rockybrook Way in the exlusive Stone Creek Ranch community west of Delray Beach, has seven bedrooms, 10 full and two half baths, a 170,000-gallon saltwater pool and a Zen-like feel due to the owners’ affection for the Four Seasons Resort Balli.
